Chapter 14
Brent
I took a final bite of daddy Joeâs rice crispy bar and waited for the rest of the daddies to file out. Throughout dinner, I couldn't help but notice Nathan glancing at me. Before we returned to our room, I needed to have a word with him. At last, the dining hall was empty and it was just us.
I turned to Nathan. To my shock, he was trembling. I stuck out my thumb and slowly caressed his arm. But he didnât glance up from the floor.
There was only one word I could say.
"Boy."
Nathan's eyes quivered. "Daddy," he began, "I think I did something wrong."
My brow furrowed. "What do you mean, boy?"
Nathan exhaled slowly. "I've been trying to get your attention all dinner. You haven't even looked at me once. I think I did something to upset you."
"No, boy. There is one thing I need to discuss with you. But you haven't upset me. Please remember we must keep open communication, sweet baby. The next time you think I've upset you, just ask."
This time, Nathan did look into my eyes. "So you're not mad?"
I tried to stop myself from grinning but it was no use. "Why would I be mad, silly boy?" I asked, bringing Nathan close. I wrapped him in a hug and kissed his forehead. "What could sweet boy have done to make daddy upset?"
Nathan trembled beneath me. "I don't know, daddy. I just thoughtâ¦"
"You let your thoughts run away from you, boy. You need to keep that in check."
Nathan sighed. "I'm sorry, daddy. I'll try to remember."
"There is one thing I need to mention, sweet boy. But daddy's not mad at all. The only reason daddy is mentioning it now is because we didn't have a chance to talk about it before. I'd forgotten it might be relevant. But as I told you 3 weeks ago when I first became your daddy, I'm still new to this. Iâm learning every day.â
Nathan bit his lip. He was preparing for the worst.
âWhat I want to tell you is that⦠While we share everything at the ranch, there are some things that are meant for just us two. I heard that you told one of your little friends we were going to reach a new level in our daddy/boy relationship tonight. I wanted to let you know how I felt about that."
Nathan's head jolted upwards. "Oh, fuck. I made daddy upset."
"No, boy. You did nothing of the sort. It's just that I prefer some things to be left between us. I completely understand you were just nervous. You were seeking reassurance from your little friend. Next time, remember you can come to daddy with your concerns. There's nothing wrong with sharing secrets with your friends. But there are some things that I like to keep just between us."
Nathan bit his lip. "Fuck."
"No cussing, boy. I also heard you and your little friend explored some things this afternoon. I wanted to let you know Iâm not upset. That's what boys do, touch each other and explore.
